Summary

Although snowpack remains well below average at just 2 inches—down 100% from seasonal norms—the resort is looking ahead with optimism. A much-needed storm system is on the horizon, with forecasters calling for 2.15 inches of snow in the next 24 to 72 hours, and a significant 13-inch dump expected within five days. While overnight temperatures hovered around a mild 39.6°F, the anticipated snowfall could dramatically improve trail conditions and reopen terrain currently limited by the shallow base.

Despite recent challenges, including record-warm conditions and a diminished early-season snowpack, Lee Canyon (formerly Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort) is making headlines with big plans. Following its recent acquisition by MCP, the resort is undergoing a major transformation, including a new lodge and expanded facilities. With 35 inches of fresh powder reported earlier this season and a bonus re-opening weekend recently announced, momentum is building. Visitors are advised to check lift status and trail openings frequently, as conditions are expected to improve rapidly with the upcoming snowfall. Get ready—Las Vegas’ coolest resort is poised for a winter comeback.
