According to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, the Gilmer County boat ramp is located on Carters Lake in Ellijay, Georgia. It is a double lane concrete ramp with a width of 20 feet and a length of 120 feet. The ramp provides access to Carters Lake, which is a 3,200-acre reservoir with a maximum depth of 450 feet.

Carters Lake is open to motorized and non-motorized boats, including fishing boats, pontoon boats, kayaks, canoes, and sailboats. However, there are restrictions on the use of personal watercraft (PWCs) and airboats on the lake.

The latest information available on the Georgia Department of Natural Resources website confirms that the Gilmer County boat ramp is open to the public and is fully operational. Visitors can access the ramp from sunrise to sunset and must pay a daily fee or purchase an annual pass to use it. There are also facilities available at the ramp, including parking, restrooms, and a fishing pier.
