While the cabin itself requires reservations through Recreation.gov and charges a nightly fee, adjacent dispersed sites are free and first-come, first-served (no permits required). Surrounded by dense spruce-fir forest with access to hiking, fishing, and OHV trails in the Fossil Ridge Wilderness and Gunnison National Forest.
