Tipi Village Camping Area in Colorado is a unique and picturesque campground located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. The campground boasts stunning views of Mount Elbert, Colorado's highest peak, and is situated near popular hiking trails, including the Colorado Trail and the Continental Divide Trail. Other nearby points of interest include Twin Lakes, Turquoise Lake, and Leadville, a historic mining town.

The campground offers a truly unique camping experience with its traditional Native American tipis, which are available for rent. Each tipi is equipped with a wood-burning stove and comfortable bedding. Other amenities include a communal kitchen, hot showers, and flush toilets.

Tipi Village Camping Area operates on a first-come, first-serve basis, and there are a total of 12 campsites available. An interesting fact about the area is that it was once a Ute Indian hunting ground and was later a mining camp during the Colorado Gold Rush.

The best time of year to visit Tipi Village Camping Area is during the summer months when temperatures average around 70°F during the day and drop to the 40s at night. The campground is open from mid-May through mid-October, and visitors are advised to bring warm clothing for the cool mountain nights.
