Lincoln Trail Camping Area in Illinois offers stunning views of the surrounding Shawnee National Forest. The campground is located near various points of interest such as the Garden of the Gods, Rim Rock, and the Ohio River Scenic Byway. The campsite offers amenities such as water and electric hookups, dump stations, showers, and a playground. Reservations are accepted, and the campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis. There are 62 campsites available for use. The best time of year to visit is during the fall, with average temperatures ranging from 60 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Visitors can enjoy the changing colors of the leaves and cooler weather while exploring the nearby attractions.
