Gogebic Lake Campground, located in the Ottawa National Forest (not Iowa, but Michigan), offers established campsites with picnic tables, fire rings, pit toilets, and a hand pump for water—no hookups or RV dump stations.

Summary

Reservations are not required; sites are first-come, first-served, with a modest nightly fee. The campground sits lakeside, offering serene forested views ideal for paddling, fishing, and wildlife viewing. The North Country National Scenic Trail is nearby, providing excellent hiking. It's a peaceful, rustic camping experience best enjoyed May through October. Note: There is no Gogebic Lake Campground in Iowa—campers may be confusing this with another site.
