The park is rich in history and is situated on the Wilderness Road, a historic trail used by early pioneers. Visitors can explore the park's historic sites, including the McHargue Mill and the Levi Jackson Mill, or take a hike along the many trails throughout the park. The campground offers 140 campsites with water and electric hookups, picnic tables, and fire pits. RV sites are available, and there are shower and restroom facilities. Reservations are recommended as campsites are in high demand, particularly during peak season, which is from May through October. Average temperatures during this time range from the mid-60s to the high 80s Fahrenheit.
