Reservations and park permits are required, and fees apply. Amenities include pit toilets, potable water, fire rings, and picnic tables; no RV hookups, though small RVs may fit at select sites. Nestled in a dense forest near Katahdin Stream and at the base of Mount Katahdin, the campground offers a rustic, peaceful experience with direct access to the famed Hunt Trail (Appalachian Trail terminus). Best visited June–September for hiking, wildlife, and fall foliage. Scenic, remote, and ideal for serious hikers.
