The Windmill Hill White Memorial Camping Area is located in Litchfield County, Connecticut, and offers stunning views of rolling hills and peaceful woods. The campground is situated near the White Memorial Conservation Center, which features over 40 miles of hiking trails, a museum, and a nature store. Other nearby points of interest include the historic town of Litchfield, the Mohawk State Forest, and the Mount Tom State Park.

The campground offers a range of amenities, including showers, restrooms, picnic tables, and fire rings. There are 22 campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis, with no reservations required. Each site can accommodate up to six people and features a tent pad, a picnic table, and a fire ring.

An interesting fact about the area is that it was once home to the Mattatuck, a Native American tribe that lived in the region for thousands of years before European settlement. Visitors to the area can learn more about the Mattatuck and other local history at the Litchfield Historical Society.

The best time of year to visit is during the summer months when temperatures average in the mid-70s. However, fall is also a popular time to visit when the leaves change colors and the temperatures are cooler.
