inches. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph.
* WHERE...Nantucket MA County.
* WHEN...Until 4 AM EST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Strong winds could
cause tree damage.
* WHAT...North winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts between 50 and 60 mph.
* WHERE...Nantucket MA County.
* WHEN...Until 7 PM EST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially
for high profile vehicles.
* WHAT...One to two feet of inundation above ground level
expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal
waterways (6.0 to 6.5 feet Mean Lower Low Water).
* WHERE...Nantucket MA County.
* WHEN...From 8 AM this morning to 2 PM EST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Many roads near Nantucket Harbor become impassable
with 1 to 2 feet of water and affects access to the ferry
terminals. This includes Easy Street, South Beach Street,
Easton Street, Walsh Street, Willard Street, and Straight
Wharf.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Sub-freezing temperatures and very
cold road surfaces could allow storm surge to freeze,
prolonging impacts and delaying drainage after high tide
periods.
* WHAT...For the Storm Warning, north winds 30 to 40 kt with gusts
up to 55 kt and seas 9 to 14 feet expected. For the Freezing
Spray Advisory, moderate accumulation of freezing spray
expected.
* WHERE...Coastal Waters extending out to 25 nm South of Marthas
Vineyard and Nantucket.
* WHEN...For the Storm Warning, from 7 AM this morning to 4 AM
EST Monday. For the Freezing Spray Advisory, from 10 PM this
evening to 10 AM EST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in freezing spray is hazardous.
Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic components
inoperative. Ice accretion on decks and superstructures may
result in some loss of stability. Storm force winds and
hazardous seas will capsize or damage vessels and reduce
visibility.
