Trout Lake State Forest Campground is a beautiful camping area located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The campsite offers stunning views of the surrounding forests and lakes, providing the perfect backdrop for a serene camping experience.

The campground is located near a few popular destinations, including the Tahquamenon Falls State Park and the Hiawatha National Forest. Additionally, visitors can enjoy hiking, fishing, and boating on Trout Lake, located just a short distance from the campground.

The campground offers amenities such as picnic tables, fire pits, and vault toilets, but does not have access to electricity or potable water. The campsite is first-come-first-serve and provides 16 campsites for tents and RVs.

An interesting fact about the area is that Trout Lake was originally named "Otahgamiwaning," which means "place of the young trout" in the Ojibwa language. It was later renamed by French explorers.

The best time to visit Trout Lake State Forest Campground is during the summer months when the temperatures are mild, averaging around 70 degrees Fahrenheit. It is important to note that the campground is only open from May to October.
