Franklin Lake Campground in Minnesota’s Chippewa National Forest offers established campsites only—no dispersed camping.


Summary

Reservations are available and recommended via Recreation.gov; fees apply. Sites include picnic tables, fire rings with grills, and access to vault toilets and drinking water. RVs are welcome, but there are no hookups. The campground sits lakeside in a peaceful, forested setting with excellent swimming, fishing, and boating. The Migizi Trail and North Country National Scenic Trail are nearby for hiking and biking. Wildlife is abundant, including loons and eagles. Best time to visit is late spring through early fall for mild weather and full amenities.
