Ward Mountain Campground is a beautiful camping area located in the heart of the Toiyabe National Forest, Nevada. This campground is a perfect destination for those seeking a peaceful and serene camping experience in the midst of natural beauty. With magnificent views of towering mountains, lush forests, and crystal-clear streams, the campground is a treat for nature enthusiasts.

The surrounding area has plenty of attractions to offer, including the popular Ward Charcoal Ovens, which are historic beehive-shaped charcoal ovens that were used to produce charcoal in the 1870s. Visitors can also enjoy hiking and fishing in the area, as well as exploring the nearby hot springs.

The campground has 20 campsites, which are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. The campsites are equipped with fire rings, picnic tables, and access to potable water. There are also vault toilets on-site.

An interesting fact about the area is that it was once home to the Shoshone and Paiute tribes. Visitors can still find evidence of their presence in the form of petroglyphs and other archaeological sites.

The best time of year to visit the Ward Mountain Campground is from June to September when the weather is mild and pleasant. Average temperatures during this time range from 60°F to 85°F during the day and 30°F to 50°F at night.
