This is a primitive, backcountry campsite requiring a permit (no reservation system, first-come, first-served at a visitor center). There's no water, toilets, picnic tables, or fire rings—fires are prohibited. Only backpackers can access it (no RVs or hookups). The campsite offers stunning high-desert and mountain views, perched on the East Rim Trail with sweeping vistas of the Chihuahuan Desert. Ideal for experienced hikers seeking solitude and breathtaking sunrises. Best visited October–April for cooler temperatures. Nearby trails include the South Rim and Boot Canyon loops.
