likely across the region Saturday morning through Sunday morning.
In addition, dangerously cold temperatures are expected Saturday
night through Monday morning.
* WHERE...Northern portions of south central Texas.
* WHEN...From Saturday morning through Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS...Roads, especially bridges and overpasses, will likely
become slick and hazardous. Ice accumulation on power lines and
tree limbs may cause power outages. Extreme cold will become life
threatening and likely damage unprotected pipes and put livestock
at risk.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Areas across the Hill Country could see
wintry precipitation effects as early as daybreak Saturday
morning. Areas along the I-35 Corridor should expect wintry
precipitation as early as Saturday during the day. Areas south and
east of I-35 should expect wintry precipitation as early as
Saturday evening.
* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow and sleet
accumulations between half an inch and two inches. Ice
accumulations between a tenth of an inch and one half of an inch
possible, with isolated ice accumulations up to three quarters of
an inch.
* WHERE...Central Texas and portions of East Texas.
* WHEN...From Friday afternoon through Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. The strong winds and weight of
snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic
power outages. Significant ice accumulation on power lines and
tree limbs may cause widespread and long-lasting power outages.
* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow and sleet
accumulations between 1 and 5 inches. Ice accumulations between a
quarter of an inch and one half of an inch possible, with isolated
ice accumulations up to three quarters of an inch.
* WHERE...North Central and Northeast Texas.
* WHEN...From Friday afternoon through Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS...The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may
down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages.
Significant ice accumulation on power lines and tree limbs may

outages and tree damage due to the ice. Travel could be impossible.
...SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM EXPECTED TO AFFECT THE REGION THIS
WEEKEND...
.An extended period of wintry precipitation is expected to begin
Friday afternoon and continue through Sunday morning. A mix of snow,
sleet, and freezing rain will occur initially, before precipitation
changes to mostly snow over a majority of the region during the day
on Saturday. Freezing rain may continue for a longer period over
southern portions of the South Plains and Rolling Plains. Travel
will likely be extremely difficult area-wide over the weekend.
* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation likely. Total snow and sleet
accumulations in excess of 4 inches are likely across portions of
the region and ice accumulations in excess of one tenth of an inch
are possible.
* WHERE...The South Plains, Rolling Plains, and the far southern
Texas Panhandle.
* WHEN...From Friday afternoon through Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS...Roads will become slick and hazardous, and travel could
be extremely difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the
Friday evening commute. Power outages and tree damage are possible.
* WHAT...Moderate to heavy accumulations of freezing rain, sleet,
and/or snow are possible across much of West Texas Friday
afternoon through early Sunday morning. In addition, dangerously
cold temperatures are expected Saturday night through Monday
morning.
* WHERE...Central Brewster and Terrell Counties, and Davis
Mountains, Davis Mountains Foothills, and Van Horn and Highway 54
Corridor.
* WHEN...From Friday afternoon through late Saturday night.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Significant ice accumulation on
power lines and tree limbs may cause widespread and long-lasting
power outages.

and/or snow are possible across Southeast New Mexico and much of
West Texas Friday afternoon through early Sunday morning. In
addition, dangerously cold temperatures are expected Saturday
night through Monday morning.
* WHERE...Portions of southeast New Mexico and southwest and western
Texas.
* WHEN...From Friday morning through late Saturday night.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Significant ice accumulation on
power lines and tree limbs may cause widespread and long-lasting
power outages.

accumulations between 5 and 9 inches and ice accumulations around
one tenth of an inch possible.
* WHERE...Portions of the Panhandle of Oklahoma and the Panhandle of
Texas.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult.
The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute.
* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total ice accumulations
between one tenth and three tenths of an inch possible across the
entire watch area, with the highest accumulations in the Piney
Woods and Brazos Valley. Slight sleet accumulations will be
possible in the northern Piney Woods and Brazos Valley, but the
primary concern will be freezing rain.

* WHEN...From Saturday morning through Sunday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Power outages and tree damage are possible due to the
ice. Travel could be hazardous.

sleet in the Piney Woods and Brazos Valley as early as Saturday
morning. Elsewhere, rain may change over to freezing rain as early
as Saturday afternoon or Saturday night.

likely across the region Friday through Saturday night. In
addition, dangerous cold temperatures are expected Saturday night
