SUMMARY

Virgin River Camping Area is located in the heart of the Arizona Strip, offering stunning views of the surrounding red rock cliffs and mesas. The campground is adjacent to the Virgin River, providing a serene setting for campers. Nearby points of interest include Zion National Park and the Grand Canyon North Rim, both within a few hours' drive.

The campground has 17 campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis. Amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, and vault toilets. Potable water is not available on-site, so campers should come prepared with plenty of water.

An interesting fact about the area is that it is home to the endangered California condor, with a release site located near the campground. Visitors may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of one of these magnificent birds soaring through the skies.

The best time to visit Virgin River Camping Area is in the spring or fall, when temperatures are mild and the crowds are smaller. Average temperatures in the spring (March-May) range from 60-80°F, while fall (September-November) temperatures range from 50-70°F. Summer temperatures can reach well over 100°F, making it less than comfortable for camping.
