A self-issued wilderness permit is required. There are no toilets, water sources, picnic tables, or fire rings; campers must follow Leave No Trace principles. Fires are often prohibited due to wildfire risk. This remote, high-alpine area features dramatic granite spires, forested ridges, and alpine lakes, attracting backpackers and climbers. Nearby trails include the Enchantments and Eightmile Lake. Access is via rugged trails; no RVs or hookups available. The best time to visit is July–September when snow has melted and conditions are stable. Expect solitude and spectacular alpine scenery.
