Best access is from the Fort De Soto Boat Ramp and nearby fishing piers. Popular species include snook, redfish, spotted sea trout, tarpon, and mangrove snapper. Fish deeper channels and grassy flats near inlets and bridge pilings. Live shrimp, cut bait, and artificial lures like soft plastics and topwater plugs work best. Peak action is spring through fall, especially around tidal changes. Shore access is excellent, with limited need for a boat, making it great for casual and serious anglers alike.
