South Twin is one of the prominent peaks located in the Appalachian Mountains mountain range. With an elevation of approximately 4,902 feet (1,494 meters), it offers breathtaking views and challenging terrain for mountaineers. This mountain, situated in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, is part of the Twin Range. Its size and ruggedness make it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts looking for a thrilling climb.

During the winter season, South Twin experiences significant snowfall due to its high elevation. The snowpack range varies each year, but it typically receives abundant snowfall, creating excellent conditions for winter activities such as skiing and snowshoeing. The mountain's snow-covered slopes offer a beautiful and tranquil winter landscape for those seeking a winter adventure.

South Twin is also known for its contribution to the local waterways. It has several creeks and rivers that receive runoff from the mountain, contributing to the overall water supply in the area. These water sources provide habitat for various species of wildlife and serve as recreational spots for fishing and water-based activities.

Regarding its name and folklore, South Twin, like many mountains in the White Mountains region, has a rich history. The naming of the peak is believed to be a result of its proximity to North Twin Mountain. The name "Twin" derives from the close resemblance of the two peaks when viewed from certain angles.
