Summary

This river run is rated Class III-IV, with some Class V rapids, and consists of 20 miles of continuous whitewater that flows from the headwaters and includes all tributaries to the confluence with Stehekin River. The segments of the river are divided into the Upper and Lower sections, with the Upper section being more challenging, containing most of the Class IV and V rapids.

Some of the specific rapids and obstacles in the Upper section include "The Gorge," "Zap," "Pinball," and "S-Turn." In the Lower section, rapids such as "Corkscrew" and "Jaws" are present.

The area is regulated by strict guidelines that are set forth by the National Park Service. All visitors are required to obtain a permit before entering the river, and all boats must meet specific safety requirements. Additionally, the use of alcohol and drugs is strictly prohibited, and all visitors must adhere to Leave No Trace principles to minimize their impact on the environment.
