* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Kentucky, including the following counties, in south central Kentucky, Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Wayne and Whitley. In southeast Kentucky, Bell, Breathitt, Clay, Floyd, Harlan, Jackson, Knott, Knox, Leslie, Letcher, Owsley, Perry and Pike. * WHEN...Through Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A passing wave of low pressure will bring moderate to heavy rain into southern parts of eastern Kentucky starting late tonight and continuing into Tuesday night. With this rain, the potential for flooding will increase due to already wet ground across the area. Rainfall totals from 1 to over 2 inches are forecast over locations in the Flood Watch through Wednesday morning. Additional rains, potentially heavy, will be possible later in the week.
