Kloshe Nanitch Observation Site
<p>The first forest fire was reported from this fire lookout site in 1918. Kloshe Nanitch Lookout structure has been removed but the area is maintained as a viewpoint. On a clear day stunning views of the Sol Duc Watershed from its headwaters around Mt. Olympus as it snakes through the Sol Duc Valley to where it flows into the Pacific Ocean at LaPush. </p><p>This site is accessed by road or by hiking <a href="http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/olympic/recarea/?recid=47715">Kloshe Nanitch Trail #882.1</a> 3.2 miles from the <a href="http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/olympic/recreation/recarea/?recid=47713">Kloshe Nanitch Trailhead</a> on the West Snider Road. The access road, Forest Road 3040-595, is a steep one lane gravel road with turnouts. Experienced back road drivers are highly recommended. </p>
