Plenty of sunshine and a dome of heat will send temperatures into the low to mid 90s for highs across most of the area today and Thursday. When combined with higher than normal humidities, this will result in heat indices from 95 to 100 degrees for much of eastern Kentucky both afternoons. There are only scant chances for showers or storms to provide limited and localized relief through Thursday. Try to limit time outdoors during the afternoon period, when heat illness is most likely to occur. If going outdoors, drink plenty of fluids and take breaks out of the sun.
