The primary constituents of the flowing water are rainfall runoff and groundwater. The bayou is fed by several smaller tributaries, including Brickhouse Gully and Vogel Creek. There are no dams on the bayou. Seasonally, the flow rate is highest during the rainy season, which typically lasts from June through September. Interestingly, the bayou is known for its fish population, which includes catfish, bass, and perch. However, due to high levels of pollution, consumption of fish from the Whiteoak Bayou is not recommended.
