Built in 1977, this earth dam structure stands at 22 feet high and serves primarily for recreational purposes. With a storage capacity of 491 acre-feet, the reservoir covers a surface area of 53.3 acres and drains an area of 2.13 square miles. Additionally, there are no associated structures or locks, making it a simple yet effective water management system.

With its picturesque surroundings and important role in water management, Crates Point Reservoir is a valuable asset for both the local community and the environment. As climate change continues to impact water resources, the maintenance and monitoring of this reservoir are crucial to ensure its continued functionality and safety.
