Built in 1927, this earth dam stands at a height of 19 feet and stretches for 1000 feet, creating a reservoir with a storage capacity of 796 acre-feet. The lake serves primarily as a recreational area, offering a surface area of 90 acres for visitors to enjoy.

Managed by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Pinecrest Lake is regulated, permitted, inspected, and enforced by state authorities to ensure its safety and compliance with regulations. Despite being classified as having a significant hazard potential, the dam is assessed to be in fair condition.
