Kennedy No. 1 is a privately owned earth dam located in Albany, Wyoming, designed by Mike C Harokopis in 1965 for the purpose of irrigation. Situated on Dodge Creek, this dam stands at a height of 40 feet with a hydraulic height of 35 feet and a structural height of 40 feet. It has a length of 400 feet and a storage capacity of 105 acre-feet, providing essential water resources for the surrounding area.

Despite being a low hazard potential structure with fair condition assessment, Kennedy No. 1 plays a crucial role in fire protection, stock watering, and small fish pond management in addition to its primary function of irrigation. The dam features an uncontrolled spillway with a width of 80 feet and a slide gate for outlet control, ensuring efficient water management. With its moderate risk assessment rating and consistent inspection history, Kennedy No. 1 remains a vital asset for water resource management in the region.

Owned and regulated by the state of Wyoming, Kennedy No. 1 is subject to regular inspections and enforcement measures to maintain its operational integrity and safety standards. The dam's location in Torrington, Wyoming, and its close proximity to the Omaha District ensure effective oversight and management. With its strategic position on Dodge Creek and its multi-purpose design, Kennedy No. 1 stands as a reliable infrastructure for water supply and climate resilience in the area.
