with the highest amounts in southwestern Yellowstone park. Winds
gusting as high as 40 mph.
* WHERE...Yellowstone National Park.
* WHEN...Until 5 PM MST this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be difficult in the backcountry.
* WHAT...Snow. Additional snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches, with
locally higher amounts on the higher peaks of the Tetons and Wind
River Range. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.
* WHERE...Wind River Mountains West, Absaroka Mountains, Teton and
Gros Ventre Mountains, and Salt River and Wyoming Ranges.
* WHEN...Until 5 PM MST this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult, especially across
mountain passes.
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 5
inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
* WHERE...Southwest Carbon County and Upper North Platte River Basin.
* WHEN...Until midnight MST tonight.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions.
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 4
inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.
* WHERE...North Snowy Range Foothills including Arlington and Elk
Mountain along Interstate 80.
* WHEN...Until midnight MST tonight.
* IMPACTS...Areas of blowing snow could reduce visibility and lead
to slick road conditions. Plan on slippery road conditions.
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 12
and 18 inches with higher amounts possible on the peaks. Winds
gusting as high as 45 mph.
* WHERE...Sierra Madre Range.
* WHEN...Until 5 AM MST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and
blowing snow. Outdoor recreation could become life threatening to
those caught unprepared for severe winter conditions. Hikers and
snowmobilers may easily become disoriented. Frostbite and
hypothermia can develop quickly. Travel could be very difficult to
impossible.
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 6 and 12
inches. Higher amounts will be possible on the peaks. Winds
gusting as high as 55 mph.
* WHERE...Snowy Range.
* WHEN...Until midnight MST tonight.
* IMPACTS...Outdoor recreation could become dangerous to those
caught unprepared for hazardous winter conditions. Hunters,
hikers, and snowmobilers may become disoriented and lost due to
low visibility in falling and blowing snow. Travel could be very
difficult. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
