Sanders Dam, located in Fremont, Iowa, along the TR- EAST NISHNABOTNA RIVER, is a private Earth dam completed in 2001 by the NRCS. The dam, standing at a height of 13 feet and stretching 2610 feet in length, serves as a Fish and Wildlife Pond with a storage capacity of 487 acre-feet. It covers a surface area of 70.9 acres and has a drainage area of 0.24 square miles, providing essential habitat for local flora and fauna.

Managed and regulated by the Iowa DNR, Sanders Dam has a low hazard potential and a moderate risk assessment. Although the dam is not currently rated for its condition, it undergoes regular state inspections and enforcement to ensure its safety and functionality.
