Pioneer Feedlot Lagoon #3 in Gove, Kansas, is a privately owned earth dam structure completed in 1992 by MUETING ENG/SURVEYING. The lagoon is designed to store 87.3 acre-feet of water with a normal storage capacity of 0.1 acre-feet. The dam is 15 feet high and 350 feet long, with a surface area of 6.5 acres and a drainage area of 0.27 square miles.

Located in the N Branch Hackberry Creek watershed, the lagoon has a low hazard potential and has not been rated for condition assessment. With a maximum discharge of 211 cubic feet per second, the dam does not have a spillway and is not regulated by the state. Although the last inspection was conducted in 1994, the structure has not been updated or modified since its completion. Despite its lack of regulatory oversight, Pioneer Feedlot Lagoon #3 serves as a critical water resource for the surrounding area while maintaining a low risk of failure.
