Kanopolis Lake is located in central Kansas, close to the town of Kanopolis. The lake was created in the 1940s as part of a flood control project by the US Army Corps of Engineers. It covers an area of over 3,400 acres and has a maximum depth of 95 feet. The lake is fed by several small streams and has a hydroelectric power plant that generates electricity for the surrounding area. In terms of agriculture, the lake is used for watering livestock and crops by farmers in the area. Recreation activities include fishing, boating, and camping.
