SCS-Little Wewoka Creek Site-17, also known as Brooks Lake, is a state-owned Earth dam located in Hughes County, Oklahoma.
Built in 1961 by the USDA NRCS, this structure serves as a critical component for flood risk reduction along Fish Creek. With a height of 24 feet and a length of 1600 feet, the dam has a storage capacity of 2043 acre-feet and a normal storage capacity of 364 acre-feet.
Managed by the Oklahoma Water Resources Board, this dam features a controlled spillway and a single valve outlet gate. Despite being rated as having a low hazard potential, it is considered to have a very high risk due to its condition not being assessed or rated. The last inspection recorded dates back to 1980, indicating a need for updated evaluations and potential risk management measures to ensure the safety and efficiency of this water resource infrastructure for the surrounding Brush Hill community and beyond.
