Marschke is a private dam located in Price, Wisconsin, along a tributary to Big Dardis Lake. Managed by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, this earth dam stands at 10 feet high with a hydraulic height of 6 feet and a structural height of 10 feet. With a normal storage capacity of 70 acre-feet and a maximum discharge of 410 cubic feet per second, Marschke covers a surface area of 25 acres and has a drainage area of 0.6 square miles.

Despite its fair condition assessment and low hazard potential, Marschke is considered to have a very high risk due to its location and characteristics. The dam features a controlled spillway with a width of 59 feet and is inspected every 10 years, with the last assessment conducted in October 2020. The dam has a storage capacity of 110 acre-feet and a length of 250 feet, serving as a vital infrastructure for water resource management in the region.

With its strategic position and significant storage capacity, Marschke plays a crucial role in regulating water flow and protecting downstream areas from flooding. As climate change continues to impact water resources, maintaining the integrity of structures like Marschke is essential for ensuring water security and resilience in the face of changing environmental conditions.
