Caesar is a privately owned earth dam located on the Big Powder River Road in Campbell, Wyoming. Built in 2008 by designer Hugh Lowham, this irrigation dam stands at a height of 32 feet and has a storage capacity of 92 acre-feet. With a primary purpose of irrigation, Caesar also serves fire protection, stock, and small fish pond needs in the area.
Despite being classified as having a low hazard potential and fair condition assessment, Caesar undergoes regular inspections every five years to ensure its safety and functionality. The dam has a spillway width of 30 feet and a maximum discharge capacity of 464 cubic feet per second. Located on Julius Draw, Caesar covers a surface area of 4.7 acres and has a drainage area of 0.02 square miles.
Although Caesar is not owned or funded by federal agencies, it is regulated by the State of Wyoming and falls under the jurisdiction of the State Engineer's Office. It is equipped with one valve outlet gate for water release. Overall, Caesar presents a moderate risk level (3) and is a crucial water resource for the region's agricultural and ecological needs.
