* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of northern California, including the following areas, Carquinez Strait and Delta, Central Sacramento Valley, Motherlode, Mountains Southwestern Shasta County to Western Colusa County, Northeast Foothills/Sacramento Valley, Northern Sacramento Valley, Shasta Lake Area / Northern Shasta County, Southern Sacramento Valley, West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada and Western Plumas County/Lassen Park below 4500 feet. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. There is the potential for mud and rock slides in the foothills and mountains. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall are expected today and into Friday with rainfall totals of 1 to 2.5 inches in the Valley and Delta and 2 to 5 inches in the foothills and mountains below the snow line. Given very wet conditions over the past two weeks, minor flooding impacts are expected with any runoff that occurs.
