Cleary Summit Ski Resort in Alaska offers a variety of trails for skiers of all levels, with the best runs being the intermediate Black Diamond and the advanced Double Black Diamond. Few people know that Cleary Summit was once a military installation during World War II, and remnants of the old bunkers can still be seen on the mountain. For beginners, the best trail to start with is the easy Green Circle trail, which offers gentle slopes and beautiful views. After a day on the slopes, head to the Silver Gulch Brewing and Bottling Co. in nearby Fairbanks for some delicious local beer and tasty snacks.
