About the Area


The Pescocostanzo ski resort is located in the Apennine Mountains in central Italy. The resort is situated in the Majella National Park, which is known for its rugged mountain terrain and diverse wildlife. The ski area offers a variety of slopes for all levels of skiers, with elevations ranging from 1,200 to 2,100 meters. Some of the prominent mountain ranges near Pescocostanzo include the Maiella and Gran Sasso ranges, which provide stunning views and challenging terrain for skiers and snowboarders. The resort also features a variety of mountain aspects, including north-facing slopes that receive excellent snowfall and sunny south-facing slopes that offer great views of the surrounding mountains.

The resort has 15 runs, with the black diamond-rated "Pista del Lupo" being the most famous. Interestingly, Pescocostanzo hosted the 1983 World Cup for alpine skiing.
