Leavitt Meadows Camping Area is located in the eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains in California, offering stunning views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. Nearby, visitors can enjoy fishing and hiking in the Hoover Wilderness, explore the historic ghost town of Bodie, or soak in natural hot springs. The campground offers basic amenities, including vault toilets and potable water, and operates on a first-come-first-serve basis with 20 campsites available. The best time to visit is in the summer months from June to September when temperatures average around 70°F during the day and drop to the 30s at night. Visitors should note that the campground is inaccessible during the winter due to heavy snowfall.
