May 2, 2024

Tims Ford State Park Camping Area in Tennessee is the perfect getaway for those looking for a peaceful and serene camping experience. The park is located in the middle Tennessee region and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and countryside. Visitors can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, boating, and picnicking along the beautiful shoreline of Tims Ford Lake.

There are several nearby points of interest for visitors to explore, including Jack Daniel's Distillery, Sewanee: The University of the South, and the historic town of Winchester. The campground amenities include 52 campsites with water and electrical hookups, a dump station, and a modern bathhouse. Reservations are recommended and can be made online or by phone.

An interesting fact about the area is that Tims Ford Lake was created in 1970 after the construction of Tims Ford Dam, which was built to provide hydroelectric power to the surrounding areas. Visitors can still see remnants of the old town of Old Estill Springs, which was flooded during the construction of the dam.
