Wasteland Weekend camping area is situated in the Mojave Desert of California and offers a unique post-apocalyptic camping experience. The nearby Calico Ghost Town is a popular point of interest, with its preserved 1800s mining town and historic buildings.

The campground amenities include portable toilets, showers, and potable water. There is no electricity or hookups, and campfires are allowed only in designated areas. The camping area operates on a first-come, first-serve basis, and it has around 500 campsites.

An interesting fact about Wasteland Weekend is that it is the world's largest post-apocalyptic festival, attracting fans of Mad Max and other dystopian genres from around the globe. The festival includes various activities such as live music, costume contests, and even a thunderdome fighting arena.

The best time of year to visit Wasteland Weekend is during the fall months of September and October, with average temperatures ranging from 75-85 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit at night. However, the festival can get extremely crowded, and it is advisable to book in advance.
