Reservations are required via Recreation.gov; fees are around $20/night. Amenities include vault toilets, drinking water (seasonal), picnic tables, fire rings, and space for small RVs (no hookups). Tucked among pines with mountain views, it’s peaceful and less crowded than nearby park campgrounds. Hikers enjoy easy access to East Portal and Glacier Basin trails. Wildlife is common. Best visited June–September for ideal weather. It’s a great base for exploring RMNP without the park’s busy campgrounds.
