Erickson Springs Campground, located in Colorado’s Gunnison National Forest near Paonia, offers 16 established, first-come, first-served campsites (no dispersed camping).


Summary

No reservations or permits are required, and the fee is around $14 per night. Amenities include pit toilets, picnic tables, fire rings with grills, and potable water (seasonal). RVs up to 35 feet can access the campground, but there are no hookups. Set in a lush, forested canyon along Anthracite Creek, it’s serene and shady with access to the scenic Dark Canyon and Gunnison Trails. Best visited late spring through early fall for mild weather, wildflowers, and great hiking or fishing.
