Bear Valley Trailhead/Upper Campground in central Idaho offers both established campsites and nearby dispersed camping. No reservations are needed—sites are first-come, first-served with no fees or permits required. Amenities include pit toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings; however, there’s no potable water or hookups. Tents and small RVs are welcome (no large rigs). Set in scenic high-altitude meadows surrounded by lodgepole pine forest, the area offers peaceful, rustic camping near Bear Valley Creek. Popular for hiking, wildlife viewing, and access to the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness. Best visited June–September when roads are open and trails are snow-free.
