Summary

Fallini Campground, located on the west shore of Mackay Reservoir in Idaho, offers established campsites with picnic tables, fire rings, and pit toilets. There’s no drinking water or hookups, but RVs are welcome. Reservations aren’t required—sites are first-come, first-served with a small nightly fee. The campground is open and semi-arid, offering sweeping lake and mountain views, ideal for fishing, boating, and wildlife viewing. Dispersed camping is also available nearby. The best time to visit is late spring through early fall, when weather is warm and trails in the adjacent Lost River Range are accessible, including routes to Mount Borah, Idaho’s highest peak.

Camping Essential Practices

Pack It In, Pack It Out
Take all trash, food scraps, and gear back with you to keep campsites clean and protect wildlife.
Respect Wildlife
Observe animals from a distance, store food securely, and never feed wildlife to maintain natural behavior and safety.
Know Before You Go
Check weather, fire restrictions, trail conditions, and permit requirements to ensure a safe and well-planned trip.
Minimize Campfire Impact
Use established fire rings, keep fires small, fully extinguish them, or opt for a camp stove when fires are restricted.
Leave What You Find
Preserve natural and cultural features by avoiding removal of plants, rocks, artifacts, or other elements of the environment.
