The camping area is near several points of interest, including the nearby Payette River and the historic town of Yellow Pine. The campground offers amenities such as fire pits, picnic tables, and vault toilets. It is a first-come, first-served camping area with 12 campsites available.
An interesting fact about the area is that it is part of the Boise National Forest, which covers over 2.5 million acres and is home to several species of wildlife, including elk, deer, and black bears. The best time to visit the Upper Yellow Pine Bar Campsite is during the summer months, between June and August, when temperatures range from 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and 40-50 degrees Fahrenheit at night. Visitors can enjoy hiking, fishing, and wildlife watching during this time.
