A BWCAW permit is required (reservation needed via Recreation.gov), with associated fees. Campsites include pit toilets, fire grates, and tent pads; no water, flush toilets, or picnic tables. RVs and hookups are not permitted. The area is remote, forested, and lakeside—ideal for solitude and canoe-based adventures. Expect serene waters, dense pine forests, and wildlife. Nearby attractions include the Kekekabic and Border Route Trails. Best visited June–September for mild weather and open portages. Be prepared for a true backcountry experience.
