It’s first-come, first-served, and no permits are required unless for large groups or campfires during restrictions. There are no toilets, water, or hookups, so campers must be fully self-sufficient. Expect a rustic, secluded experience surrounded by dense boreal forest, ideal for solitude and stargazing. Fire rings may be present at some spots, but picnic tables and RV amenities are absent. Nearby attractions include the Echo Trail and hiking access to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Best visited June–September for mild weather and trail access.
