There are no amenities—no toilets, water, fire rings, or picnic tables—so campers must be self-sufficient and practice Leave No Trace ethics. RVs are not recommended due to unmaintained forest roads. The area is heavily forested and serene, ideal for solitude and wildlife viewing. Nearby attractions include hiking and paddling opportunities on Fenske Lake and the Superior National Forest trails. No permits or fees are required. The best time to visit is late spring through early fall, when access is easier and bugs are more manageable.
