A free permit may be required through the De Soto National Forest. Amenities are minimal: no toilets, water, fire rings, or picnic tables. RV access is possible via gravel roads, but there are no hookups. Campers enjoy a secluded riverside setting with lush forest scenery, ideal for paddling, fishing, and birdwatching. The nearby Black Creek Trail, a National Scenic Trail, offers excellent hiking. Best visited in spring or fall for mild weather and fewer bugs. Expect a quiet, back-to-nature experience with little infrastructure.
