Lone Tree Campground is a picturesque camping area located in the heart of the Umatilla National Forest in Eastern Oregon. The area offers stunning views of the surrounding Blue Mountains and is situated near the Wild and Scenic North Fork John Day River. Nearby points of interest include the historic mining town of Granite and the Sumpter Valley Railway. The campground features amenities such as potable water, restrooms, and picnic tables. Reservations are available for some campsites, while others are first-come, first-serve. There are a total of 26 campsites available, with most suitable for tents or small RVs. The best time to visit is during the summer months, with average temperatures ranging from 70-80°F during the day and 40-50°F at night.
